11 STEPS TO REGISTER A COMPANY IN KENYA.


These simple steps are as per the provisions of Companies Act Cap 486
laws of Kenya. This article shows the time taken and the fee charged.
Steps to be undertake are;
1.Obtain the validity of your business name from the registrar of
companies. This takes 3 days and a fee of ksh 100.

2.Obtain stamp on the memorandum of kenya.articles of association and a
statement of nominal capital.This takes 5 days and a stamp duty charge
of 1% of the nominal capital plus ksh 2,020.

3.Pay stamp duty at the bank at ksh 100 -1 day.

4.Declaration of compliance with registrar of companies before a
commissioner of oaths/notary.costs ksh 200.

5. File deed and details with the registrar of companies at attorney
general's chamber.7-14 days at a fee of Ksh 6,360.

6.Register with the Tax department for Personal Identification Number
(PIN) and VAT. You can do it on line at no cost.

7.Register for a business permit at a fee of Ksh 5,000 for a period of 5 days.

8.Register with the national social security (NSSF) at no cost for 1 day.

9.Register with the National Hospital Insurance Fund(NHIF) at no cost
for 1 day.

10.Register for P.A.Y.E at no cost for 1 day.

11.Make or buy a company seal from relevant business dealers after
receiving certificate of incorporation.

It is important to seek more guidance from an expert and also being
careful when choosing an agent if you wish to.
